"Time pretty much stood still for 7 days"- Kevin Cannon

"The best thing was having dinner with everyone around the salon table and getting to talk about whatever we did that day... I also really enjoyed being at the helm"- Acacia Hennings

Sailing the Sea of Cortez

Inspired by Butch Florey, owner of Tradewinds Sailing club, we took a trip to La Paz, the capitol city of the Mexican state of Baja California Sur, affectionately known as 'baja' to most gringos. In December of 2007, with a crew of six, we sailed the islands north of La Paz for a week. Cardonel beach

Highlights of the trip included trading with fisherman on remote islands, spectacular sunsets, successful fishing and snorkeling with friendly sea lions!

skipjackWe hope to revisit this beautiful area someday. Jacques Cousteau rightly called the Sea of Cortez "the world's aquarium". Seemingly desolate deserts preside over waters rich with life. This juxtaposition, spiny lobster along with a wide variety of anchorages within easy reach of one another, make the area perfect for cruising.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
